:: SOMEBODY STOLE OUR GEAR ::
Earlier this week two men jimmy-ed open a window in IanOn's Coorparoo house and stole some of our dearly loved equipment, namely:
(1)
Kate's Cherry Red Epiphone Les Paul
A fine, exceptionally light instrument favoured by small ladies and emo-wusses like the men of Iron On, this guitar will no doubt make an excellent purchase at your local pawn store...were it not for the terrible karmic havoc it will bring upon its new owner. The guitar is easily identifiable by a number of stickers placed on its surface: a large white 'You Little Punks Think You Own This Town' one, a Righteous Babe Records circle, a blue Salteens circle and a cheerleader-type girl in a red top sticker (...ahem!). It has a screwed on guitar strap that has plastic snap-in locks to remove and apply the strap. There is also a small ding on the back of the neck around the 7th fret. So what everyone is looking for is a red guitar like that one...or one that has some sticker damage, or no lugs to hang a normal strap on.
(2)
Ian's Fender Bassman 100 Amp Head
The creme of the budget conscious Fender tube heads, this amp does in fact rule supremely. Its a silver-faced amp head, a mid-70s model to be exact, with recently conditioned tubes and circuitry. The amp is in excellent condition and therefore has few distinguishing features bar a 'Watsons Electronics' sticker on the rear panel and a piece of white masking tape with 'Line Out' written on it pasted under one of the outs.
The thieves also removed a pale blue mobile phone (since recovered) and a Pentax MZ50 SLR camera from our house. But that's about it, suggesting that what they were specifically after was the gear. So please have a look in your local pawnstores over the next couple of days. I'm sure we can come to some sort of agreement on a reward if you help us out...or know the people who did it.
Please hit us up at the email address
abandcalledironon@hotmail.com to get in contact with us.
All shows booked (ie. the Rics one next weekend) will go ahead as planned.
::: THANKS FOR DANCING :::
Thanks to everyone who rolled up to
4ZZZ's Banana Buffet show yesterday at the
Lions Den Cafe. It was a long assed day, just ask Andrew the sound dude, but an awesome one. The other bands rocked it, unfortunatetly we couldn't catch everyone, but liked just about everything we saw. Stalls also impressed...so many distros, zines and crafty people we hadn't even heard about. Our set didn't play so well but more importantly we all had a good time. Some people danced, used portable stairs in interesting ways and even chose to join us onstage...it was madness but I personally loved every second of it. As long as people don't physically hurt us, each other or the venue (usually in that order) I'm happy to let people do what they want. Post-show we ate pancakes and talked about rock music. Overall, we had a blast and we've got the Zed crew (and Matt Rogers) to thank for it. Thanks.
