Saturday 15th September - Iron On playing Fiesta!

Hey all. I realise we neglect this website. We got scared of it. Even its creator hates it and its strange code. So I thought it was time I post something to fill you all (all, as in those who don't believe in myspace) in.

So first things first we are playing this coming Saturday at Valley Fiesta! We are playing at 5:00pm on the China Town Mall stage. It will be ace. Lots of awesome bands are playing over the weekend including our good friends Violent Soho. Check them out.

Oh and Friday night I am pretty sure we will all be watching Silversun Pickups. I don't know what stage they are on but hot damn, check them out.

In the next couple of days we will have more exciting news....you will have to wait a bit longer I am afraid.

To keep you interested until then here is an update on everyone:

Ross - Still insists that his desktop mac can in fact, be used as a laptop. He regularly takes it places. I haven't seen him pull it out at a cafe yet but no doubt when we are on the road he will. His eye sight has returned to normal! Thank goodness.
Marieca - Currently in hospital. Send best wishes her way. I am pretty sure she will live... She also discovered a mouse in her stove. Her eye sight is fine I guess.
Ian - Recently buried a possum in his back yard. He wrapped it in one of his girlfriend's dresses and a Ladyfest bag. It was a bit sad and weird. Apparently said ladyfriend gave Ian the nod to use her dress on the little critter. Ian probably should wear glasses and not drive at night.
Kate - Both Kate's legs are bruised badly. She luckily didn't end up in hospital like Marieca, but is thinking today maybe she should have stayed overnight anyways. Especially since Marieca got a private room. Kate continues to have perfect eye sight and often sees things she wishes she didn't.

Sail safe sailors. See you Saturday.

Summer 2006 Catalogue

Another hard day at the office at Iron On HQ. Things were getting a little hectic, a little crazy. Marieca suggested we "take a load off fanny" and head to the new IKEA megastore to redecorate Iron On HQ. We didn't find what we wanted but we did find lots of prams and some pretty unhappy looking people. We almost ate the $1 hotdogs. But then we discovered the meal deal...$1.5 for a soft drink...but for ONLY $2 you could get a drink and a sanger-banger in a roll! AMAZING! When will the bargains end? Tarpaulin bag for $1...who knows when we might need that!

Iron On's advice, don't go...and don't buy the cheap doona covers with no buttons...they are ugly and they will give you nightmares.

PS We've got a show in December, last show of the year, check out the details in the shows setion. Be perepared for "never-nude" cut off pants. xoxo

Iron On play Family Nightclub

Yes, you read right, and no we haven't turned into a DJ act overnight...can you imagine us on ecstasy? Frightful. Anyway, it is true, this Thursday night we're going to be taking the stage at the Family Nightclub as part of Q-Music's BIG SOUND Showcase extravaganza! This will be the first time Iron On has ever played Family, it's also the first time most of us have ever even been there! So come along even just to watch us stare at the expensive decor and go "ooh"... "aah". It's going to be fun, promise. We're also going to be showcasing a bunch of new songs, so if you missed our recent show at the troubadour, you haven't missed out entirely! There's a heap of other bands on the bill too, and it's only $10 to get in! Hope to see you there.
Love, Iron On.

Hibernation is over, Iron On remember to love their website!

Apologies for the severe lack of updates around here. Despite all appearances, we really do love our website, and promise that from now on we will treat it with the sensitivity, love, and respect it deserves. In other words make sure we post on this thing a little more regularly than every four months.

But don't be fooled by the lack of updates. We've been busy here in camp iron on...some people believe we are a "collective", some like to take the use of the word "camp" a little more figuratively...but either way you look at it we've certainly haven't been slacking off. We've been writing a bunch of new songs, demoing them with our favourite producer Magoo, and just generally trying to nut things out for the coming year. It should be fun, we're excited at the prospects that lay ahead, but more on that soon.

Gigs

We're going to be playing our first Brisbane headline show in a long time on Friday 29th of September at the Troubadour. Come along to hear a taste of what we've been working on for the past six months. It'll probably also be one of your last chances to see us live in 2006. We're pretty excited about the supports for the night too - our friends Violent Soho are main support, and opening up is a relatively new act aheadphonehome. We hope to see you there!

Cheers
Iron On
